Our comprehensive examinations can detect early signs of glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, and even conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure, along with other sight threatening eye conditions such as retinal detachments and other retinal diseases.
As the Optic nerve is an extension of the brain, we can also detect brain disorders, such as tumours and other brain diseases. We offer an advanced eye examination that can tell a whole lot about YOUR eyes and YOUR health. The standard examination is free under the NHS (if you are entitled to this), all children under the age of 19 (in full time education) and adults over 60 are entitled to a FREE standard eye examination.
Our thorough advanced examinations typically takes 45-60 minutes, ensuring we have time to properly assess every detail and tiny blood vessel in your eye health.

The Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS) is an NHS-funded service available to patients aged 5+ who are registered with a North-East London GP. It provides assessment and treatment for recent minor eye conditions including red eyes, irritation, minor trauma, suspected foreign bodies, or mild pain.
This service is not a replacement for routine eye exams and doesn't include sight tests or glasses prescriptions. It's specifically for medical eye concerns that have developed recently.
Covered conditions: Red/watery eyes, minor scratches, foreign object concerns, mild discomfort
Not covered: Sudden vision loss, severe pain, major trauma (call us for advice or visit A&E for these)
MECS related enquiries can be done through calling, email, whatsapp, contact box or by walking in.
We are approved optometrists that can provide MECS as shown here
